The elzetta shotgun mount puts the light where you need it for quick action. The only thing I don’t like about this product is… I have this on my Winchester 1300 defender, I tightened it real tight, and the pressure around the mag tube caused the spring not to function. I loosened it, and it went back to working okay, but now it moves just a little bit with use. Also, keep in mind this thing has a few screws in it. Every time you want to break down your weapon, you have to take all those screws out and unmount it to be able to do the full breakdown. Not too much of an issue, but if you are lazy like me and have a lot of guns to clean, it becomes one more thing in the process. All in all, I do like the elzetta shotgun mount, though. It serves its purpose; I would recommend just getting a cheap one. It does the same thing at a quarter of the price. This one does look pretty cool, though.

This thing rocks on my Rem. 870 Tactical

I have this mounted on my Remington 870 Tactical, and I love it. Mounted the light a little forward of the pump to where I can activate the tale switch with my thumb, and it works great. It is also light-weight. Going to get one for my brother for his B-Day too. Came with some different adapters/spacers for slightly different size flashlights. I have a 1-inch scorpion light with rubber handle/grip, and it mounted with ease and didn’t have to use any of the adapters. If installing a smooth handle light, I would probably wrap it with a little bit of black electrical tape to give it some extra grip when tightening the elzetta shotgun mount around the shaft of the light, so it doesn’t fall out when you start blasting stuff.

Okay, pay careful attention to instructions

I worked well enough. However, the guidelines require you to tighten the Allen-wrench style bolts to a specific torque, and unless you have a very specialized/small torque-Allen wrench, you can’t be sure where you’re at torque-wise. I accidentally over-tightened at first, which caused problems for my shotgun’s magazine (compressed the tube just enough to mess up the spring action). I was hand tightening only – the line between tight enough and too tight is narrow.

Also, the product is not reversible (must be light up rather than down), and the semi-embedded nuts tend to fall out often as you try to maneuver the product during assembly. All of that said, it has so far stayed in place during shooting. In sum: okay, but not spectacular.

Best buy for the money

I tried to go the cheaper route and found out quickly that it was a bad idea. I did not want to spend more than the cost of my 870 to mount an LED flashlight, so I thought this would be a good compromise. I’m happy to say this is precisely what I was looking for. Very high-quality material, durable, and fit perfectly with no play at all. The LED/laser light I had was just a hair wider than the 1.05,” but since the light is clamped in position with five-set screws, I was able to adjust them, so they clamped firmly in place. I even had to use a pair of channel locks to get the last screw started, and the material showed zero signs of stress. This is a very high-quality flashlight mount, and I would recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful, secure and made in the USA

Had to mod the mount pretty exhaustively to fit our Mossberg 505 youth (aka the lady shotgun 😉 ) due to the mag tube and barrel being closer together than the mount allows with insert pads to fit the .410. A Dremel is beneficial to remove the offending insert material carefully. Securely holds an extremely bright stream light polytech with tail cap plunger switch right where it needs to be allowing the weapon to illuminate anything that goes bump in the night.

Elzetta Tactical Shotgun 0.70″ to 1.05″ Flashlight Mount

This is a lightweight, heavy-duty mount that attaches to the magazine tube and the barrel. There are only two things I don’t like but will live with if you want to remove the barrel when cleaning your gun you have to remove the four screws for the mount, Maybe I should have gone with the more expensive version, But this baby is sturdy no if’s and’s or but’s. The second and least important is you can’t have a heat shield on the gun barrel if you like to build your gun. That is the only reason I give it four stars.
