Harris SBR Bipod Reviews
Great construction
Great construction. Spring loaded legs on the Harris SBR Bipod make it quick to deploy. The swivel mechanism is excellent, it’s supported by leaf-springs and using the knob adjustment, you can control the resistance to canting. It’s the perfect height for prone shots.
Solid tripod, easy mount, made in USA…
I’m pleased with the purchase of my Harris SBR Bipod, the legs are easy to pull out and retract. Build quality is solid. The swivel is perfect for uneven ground/tables. When using a tripod, you should “load” the tripod (forward pressure) to take up any slack in the legs. Not doing so, can cause the rifel bipod to “hop” when shooting and impact accuracy. (This was my first bi-pod and I learned the hard way!)
The Harris SBR Bipod Does what it’s supposed …
The Harris SBR Bipod does what it’s supposed to do…nice light weight…ruggedly built…glad I got the Harris Bipod. On a 15 pound 308 so I have experienced none of the issues others noted with “folding up” or losing elevation control after locking; not to say it doesn’t happen, just believe the combination of light recoil on a heavy gun negates these issues.
Good Quality
Have two other Harris bipods and am happy with all of them. They are rugged/well constructed. Only issues I have with them are that Harris should sell the swivel models with cant tightening levers as standard (you will want to buy one for around $20)and they are not the easiest to get on and off the swivel stud — that is you will find yourself getting one for each rifle rather than switching from gun to gun…
Works as advertised
I use the Harris SBR Bipod on an AR with a sling stud on free float tube. I use it to test loads. The ability to adjust the height off the ground is critical. The adjustable legs easily adjust and hold their position. The rifle bipod does allow the rifle to be rotated right/left. For my application, this is not desireable, as it can lead to changes in the ‘battery’ position, which could affect the group size.
Best in the Business
Harris Engineering is the best in the business. I’ve bought many over the years and never had one break or malfunction. Great product, great seller and prompt delivery. Would buy again.
Almost perfect, except…
The Harris SBR is very well built rifle bipod, I wouldn’t hesitate to get a second one. It would be a 5 star of they would just sell a version that already comes with the lever style tension knob. Just toss one in and sell a version that is $30.00 more.
Hard to go wrong with any Harris bipod. Bought …
Hard to go wrong with any Harris bipod. Bought this to use in cases where my tall Harris bipod – bought many years ago – isn’t the optimal size. Since its my second example, and the first one is so old, I can compare the quality of the two: New mfr vs. old is identical in quality and ease of use. The only noticeable difference over the last umpteen years is the fastening screw is larger on the new product to make it easier to grip during install and detachment. They have only improved the product.
