Aim Sports Armorers wrench reviews
Right Tool For The Job
The Aim Sports Armorers wrench works as expected. Appears to be well built. Fits well in my hand when in use. Have yet to use to remove a barrel nut, hence the four stars. Durability over time is also unknown. This was priced reasonably on Optics Planet. Also, excellent customer service as well as packing and shipping.
Reliable, heavy steel, I expect long term use …good buy and best price around
I shopped around. Opt Pl had the best price. The wrench worked for my barrel nut. A little paint in the teeth had to be removed, but it then worked perfectly when the heat was applied to nut to expand and melt any Loctite.
Coating too thick. Otherwise works well
Heavy duty and solid. However, the coating is so thick that it would not fit over the flash hider. I had to use a Dremel to remove the coating before it would fit over the nut. Same with the pins on the barrel wrench. It is a coating too thick. Worked fine once coating was sanded off.
A simple tool, Simple review… it’s ok
It’s good enough. That’s about it. There’s not a whole lot going on here with this product. The finish is just metal. It seems strong enough to last. I have only used it to swap out a sling plate on my most recent m4 build. It worked but didn’t fit well.
Price is right
Excellent tool for building a rifle or two. If you’re going to be doing any regular gunsmithing, you’re better served spending more and buying a professional grade Armorer’s Wrench. It will work, but the finish is rough, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the castle nut tabs failed eventually. Still, it’s worthwhile for the price.
AR15?M4 Combo Armorers Wrench
I have multiple AR’s and M4’s, and this Armorers Wrench is doing the task I was expecting and has yet to disappoint. From day one, I have used this tool and again to find fault; it continues to provide ease of use and is extremely useful for so many tasks when addressing AR’s and M4’s issues.
Broke the wrench
The first time I used this product, the teeth that grabbed the barrel nut snapped off. I had to order another barrel wrench, which was more heavy-duty and it works ten times better. The Armorers Wrench is exceptionally uncomfortable in hand and pops out when applying pressure. Also, the wrench did not fit the muzzle brake, and the spanner wrench was narrower then I thought it would be…I was hoping it would be able to grab a jam nut on the handguard. The moral of the story is that I wish I spent the extra money and bought a tool to last. The wrench because of its design, in my opinion, when under torque pops out of place and applies uneven pressure on the barrel nut.
-I ended up going with the PRI barrel nut wrench, which is exceptionally well built, and the teeth are welded into place.
