A new sight for the AR

I bought this Burris TAC30 to replace a red dot sight that I previously had on an A.R. Older eyes sometimes require a little magnification. I like the fact that the reticle works without a battery too. I had previous experience with the P.E.P.R. mount, so I knew that was a plus. I ended up taking the Fastfire off and using it on a .22 handgun (that old eyes thing again) — reasonable price for the quality, easy to mount.

I got my Burris illuminated TAC30, and it works and looks great on my AR build. The optics on my builds range from EOtechs to ACOGs. This is an excellent compromise between EOTech with 1x and the ACOG with 4x. The EOTech and ACOG both have a place and defined purpose, but this is a unique blend between the 2.

The combination of the Burris Tac30, Fastfire III, and PPR mount has to be the best value out there for some serious AR optics. I am blown away by the quality and performance the LRS scope brings with a crisp, clear field of view and excellent illuminated reticle. You will not be disappointed.

This is a great combo deal. What’s better than everything you need in one box? I have a Fast Fire on my 22 pistols and loved it. When I shoot AR matches, I always needed to dial-up for a close 7-yard shots. Now I leave the scope set at 50yards and use the fast fire for close shots.

Reticle makes shooting out to 300 yards almost automatic. The wind begins to play a factor beyond that, but the reticle is spot on. I use it for coyotes and three gun style shooting, and its outstanding. My single grip is that thought the function of the reticle is excellent. The center dot is just too big for true precision target shooting at ranges beyond 50-100 yds. You can smoke steel all day but be wary if you’re looking for x rings on paper.
