G33 w/ EXPS2

This EOTech magnifier is undoubtedly very high quality, but the eye relief is pretty terrible (both distance and left/right). You have to put your nose on the charging handle for an AR, but that is how I shoot. It does look great when your eye is in the right spot. It quickly clears the Magpul MBUS with or without the riser. All three components fit on my Noveske upper receiver. The adjustment knobs are a touch loose IMO. It’s easy to move them when you are flipping it back and forth. Also, I think the riser height is a little off. Without the 7mm riser, it is a bit low on the EXPS. It seems a bit high with it, but it is not noticeable when in use. It is super easy to mount, and the Flip to Side works excellent. I am not sure I would buy it at its current price. I was lucky enough to order before prices skyrocketed.

Eotech G33 Magnifier worth the money

This EOTech magnifier works excellent with the Eotech XPS2 series of sights. Takes effort to switch to side and return, so no accidental movement is possible. Consider buying a view with on/off switches on the side as opposed to the rear so that the Magnifier can be mounted closer to the sight. Rear flip down iron sight can end up being very close to your eye with the eye relief available on the Magnifier.

EOTech G33 3x Magnifier w/ STS Mount.

This is probably the cream of the crop for 3x magnifiers. The glass is pretty much perfect. Holding it next to your red dot will reveal how ethical your red dot glass isn’t. The mount is solid and even comes with the 7mm spacer so you can easily switch from absolute to lower 1/3rd co-witness. It fits over my BUIS either way. Unfortunately, using this Magnifier turns my precise little one moa dot into a 3-4 moa flared out v-shape. I believe this is primarily due to A) the nature of my eyes and contact lenses, and secondarily due to B) me not having an Aimpoint T-2 micro (which I hear has the best dot out there). Just be advised this may be an issue for some people. One feature I didn’t love was that the vertical and horizontal adjustment dials spin with too much ease. Since they stick out, I’d prefer them to take some force to move. As is, they are easy to turn accidentally. This doesn’t affect your zero; it just moves the sight picture around. If you are set on a 3x mag, this one would be tough to beat.

High-Quality Product!

I purchased the G33 3x Magnifier primarily to extend the optics range on my BCM M4. The overall craftsmanship of this EOTech product is superb, and its rugged construction was apparent the moment I removed it from the foam-padded case that it was shipped in. I’m using the G33 to back up EOTech EXPS3 Dot Reticle sight. I paid a little bit extra for the two optics because the only EOTech combo that OpticPlanet was offering was with the 2-Dot, non-NV compatible sight (EXPS2-2), but both optics are worth the extra I paid. First-rate quality and the optics range suits my needs precisely. -JD
