The activation button needs a bit of deliberate force to trigger, reducing the probability that was unintentionally bumping this up against something in a dynamic environment could cause the bipod legs to deploy that is inadvertent.
Additionally, the unit is lightweight at 5-6 ounces, and measures five ¾ retracted.
