Mid-Evil Industries 360° Vertical Fore Grip GEN 2 Overview
A Southern California based firm, Mid Evil Industries, has a brand new vertical fore grip out that swivels 360°. The intention is to allow the shot more control on the front end of her or his rifle. Called the 360°, VFG, it is available with Picatinny, MLok and Key Mod attachments to mount on a variety of rifles, carbines, shotguns and sub machineguns. It had been developed from the designer and inventor of the Mag Magnet and TX3, business owner and founder, Steve Azhocar. Says Steve, I have never really been satisfied with the perpendicular grips available on the marketplace and for many years I have had this idea to make a vertical fore grip which will adjust at any angle easily and on the fly.
That is what makes this traction so unique. There isn’t anything like this out there. At a runup at SHOT Show we got a sample and tried it on many different rifles. The 360°, VFG can rotate to just about any angle the shooter desires and locks into position with a fast twisting action. It really gives the shooter more dynamic hold than normal VFG and has the potential to be the next evolution in vertical fore grips. Our test model felt like a rock solid piece of gear, but it’s really hollow and has a compartment to store spare batteries, the latter round, or possibly a spare bolt if the shooter needs to change out at the event of equipment failure. We didn’t expect to see this feature however, found it works very well and makes an excellent product even better, like eating an apple pie and locating a $5 bill in the bottom of the tin! In the past many people shunned VFGs because they have a tendency to cause the shooter to muscle the rifle, which can induce shake and leads to inaccuracy, but the positioning of the 360°, VFG makes it behave more like shooting rest than the usual handle which might make the shooter desire to put a death grip on it. We see a big potential for this VFG in competitive shooting as well as full on tactical use and think it might have excellent applications when shooting supported from behind a barricade.
