Vortex diamondback 3-9×40 Reviews
Favorite Scope I own.
I own five vortex scopes at this point, and this Vortex diamondback 3-9×40 is, by far, my favorite. I hunt in dense forest, and the low magnification, clarity, and weight make this fantastic for the hunting I do. I liked it so much that I bought one for my brother and dad. My only gripe is the BDC reticle is useless to me because of how close the hashes are to each other. At the time, the BDC was my only option, but I see they make a Duplex as well that would fit me better.

Nothing compares
I’ve owned this vortex diamondback 3-9×40 scope for a few months now, and I’ve mounted it on a couple of different calibers ARs. Right now, I have it paired with my .223 16″ barrel, suppressed, shooting 72gr. My longest kill shot measured with a laser is 320yds. I know I could push this shot out farther but haven’t had an opportunity to yet. My favorite way to “sell” this Scope to my friends is to have them get used to any other scope they have, then have them shoot with mine. It’s so easy to see and feel the superior quality that the only Vortex produces.

Great Hunting Scope
I bought this vortex diamondback rifle scope because it was in my budget at the time, and I had been working in a long-range rifle that I was itching to get out and shoot. I wanted to get some vortex glass to see if I liked it; I planned to use it for my long-range rifle, and then put it on my .30-.30 (which desperately needs an upgrade), and if I liked it, I’d buy another vortex with a higher power. Well, that’s definitely what’s going to happen, and I’ll be replacing some other old rifle scope now too. I loved this Scope; the turrets are high, it’s sturdy, the zoom and all other focal planes are easy to adjust, and most importantly, the glass is clear as can be. I would recommend this Scope! It was great for shooting paper, and I’m sure it will be celebrated up in the mountains next hunting season.

Great shooting experience!
I recently added this Scope to a .17 HMR. I researched and drove myself crazy over several brands until Vortex finally won the battle. After receiving the Scope, before I even mounted it to the gun, any doubts about my choice were relieved. The first
Look through the glass across the beautifully done BDC reticle was a welcome treat. After mounting (with Vortex rings) and bore sighting the rifle was zeroed in 3 shots. Using the Vortex online calculator, I was quickly hitting water bottle sized targets at over 180 yards. The optics made it very comfortable to aim at the small targets without straining my eyes. In low light this Scope also performs remarkably well. It turns what are black spots to the naked eye into easy to see sight pictures. The edges of the glass are almost entirely clear, and you have to look to see any distortion. Aside from high glass, the other features of the Scope are equally as impressive. First of all, I think it’s clean, simple appearance is lovely. It made an already impressive looking rifle pop. Then there are the turrets. I like how they are almost as easy to use as exposed target turrets, as in being finger turn adjustable, but are protected when needed by the surprisingly thick and well-machined caps. However, I will throw my two small complaints with the Scope in at this point since one deals with the turrets. While they do have a positive click to them, I would love to see them require just a bit more effort to turn them. It’s relatively easy to become more clicks than intended. This is a small issue, though since once you feel it you expect it and ease up the next time. Number two, and this is true for most every Scope I have ever touched from any company, and the magnification dial is too stiff for my liking. It is silky smooth, which helps, but it requires more effort than it has to when moving it. This is a personal opinion, and I by no means am saying this is wrong. Just my preference. Overall, I could not be happier with my pick. And all with a warranty that needs no explanation. Thanks, Vortex, you have made a customer for life. All my scopes will begin being changed to Vortex.jkm87
