SKS sight tool review
SKS sight tool Works for Me
So far, either I or friends of mine have used this tool on both SKS and AK guns, including Russian, Yugo, and Chinese, and it fits them all, including the front sight pin. It seems to be a good quality SKS tool. If you need to adjust your AK/SKS sights, you need something like this to be able to do it right without making marks on anything
Nice SKS sight tool
Well built. It would be hard to break, given how it’s made. You may, however, want to avoid the least cost shipping method if you wish to it anytime soon. Ups got it to texas in one day. It took us seven days to move it to one county. Other than that, no complaints.
Works as Advertised
Excellent piece of gear. Makes front sight windage and elevation changes a snap. Beware of cheap imitations which use soft steel. It helps to pre-lube the front sight with penetrating oil before making your first sight adjustment.
Great tool
Bought this SKS sight tool to replace a cheap Chinese tool that bent trying to move a frozen sight. I wasn’t sure if this tapco tool would do the job either, but to my pleasant surprise where the other device turned under pressure, this SKS tool took it, and with a snap, my sight was no longer frozen. I have used this on numerous guns now, and it has worked like a charm every time. This handy little tool has made my day along with a few other guys at the range. I would repurchase it.
Well made tool.
I used this SKS sight tool on a Norinco Hunter & also on an SKS. I found this tapco tool to be well made. It functioned as it should have (even on a stuck sight). The casting is rough, but who cares about the looks of a tool as long as it’s secure and reliable.
A useful tool for a tough job
Most of the “sighting-in” adjustments on an AK are made with the front sight, and most AK owners will need a tool like this. The vertical alignment is not much of a problem, but the horizontal adjustment parts can be frozen in place by corrosion or congealed lubricant, and a tool like this is needed to move the pieces. This tapco SKSS tool is reliable and seems well made, and it worked on my AK. But turning the T-handle to break the bond of corrosion can be hard, and the user may want to use a tube of some sort to provide a useful handle extension for more leverage. Also: use penetrating oil.
