Impact Weapons Components Review
News flash for all those of you who’ve was in the comas for the last 30 decades, the AR-15 is quite popular. In reality, it’s hugely popular, and apparently getting exponentially so on a daily basis. Not only are companies you would never have anticipated making variations of America’s favorite rifle that was black, but much more companies are currently making attachments. This can be both good and bad. Good, because selections and competition are always great at increasing the quality of the accessories on the market, and lowering the cost. Bad since there are currently SOOOO many companies making attachments which it is difficult to keep track of the companies their products.
If you are none of the huge dogs making accessories for the AR, there is a great probability that you will be lost in a crowd. Most every business which makes a great, excellent product will ultimately discover their product available by Brownells, but if you do not already know just what you are searching for when searching Brownell’s huge site, you can have difficulty finding it. If you search for their site, you get 1435 things, and even then you might not find just what you’re looking for. Occasionally, the only way you learn about something new and cool in the AR market is to either read the review, or see one in person on a buddy’s gun.
That’s how I discovered Impact Weapons Components. I have a couple of personally owned AR-15/M4s, and on everyone, you’ll discover something, stock or grip or an extension made by Magpul. That is because Magpul makes great things, things that are merchandise improved over the standard Mil-Spec design. Nevertheless, with regards to attaching things to Magpul forends, I discovered my choices were fairly limited. Then I was turned on at IWC. While they’re, in the true capitalist way, branching out, what initially drew me to IWC were their Mount-N Slot accessories designed to attach to Magpul forends. Their designs looked functional and easy and yet were fine to look at, so I purchased both a flash light mount and also what I consider a hand stop, but what they call an arms control mount.
In all honesty, IWC displayed more creative thinking and creativity in the packaging of their products than firms show the products themselves. Once I opened up the awesome little boxes that I wasn’t disappointed in the accessories. Simple, practical, and easy to attach are a few things I will say about their products. Those designed to mount into Magpul forends are attached designs, but IWC makes them to match rails in addition to lots of the newest creation of round AR forends with slots/holes.
